The past 2 days was sick! I got food poisoned. At least the medicines are colourful >.<
Shall not elaborate more on sad matters. I'm looking forward to the future where I see myself in a music workshop in PJ listening to something I'm actually interested in. Weeeeeee :) finally a silver lining after the rain!
So..... I shall pick up Caitlyn tmr morn, and zooooooom my way to PJ with a GPS. Hahahaha! Caitlyn's MUCH younger than me but despite this liiiiittle age gap we're gonna have fun! I'm sure :) The same passion is all we need!
Been sleepi...*cough* passively recovering for 2/3 of the day for the past 2 days! I still need some rest though (darn it!) my stomach still cramps occasionally.
This last paragraph was initially a LONG superbly well thought out para dedicated to my classmate Andrew. I was just finishing it when my internet connection went off and he coincidentally called. After the call, I erased the whole thing cuz I risk sounding ridiculous if he didn't go uk after all. Hahaha oops!
That's all. I go sleep.

Pek Chek!
I went out with this ex-classmate of mine in June, right after my final commercial paper. Today, 19th August, 5mins ago, I got a phone call from her mom. She sounded really upset with me. I can't forget her words.
We converse in chinese and part of our conversation went like this:
'How many times have you ask my daughter out?!'
'Only once aunty'
'When??'
'2months ago, in.. ..June'
'You ask her out and did not ask my permission?? I dun like it. That's no different from LYING to me'
'.. .. ..(*OH LYING???! TO YOU?? Your daughter is 21years old for God's sake! My friends dun come over and ask my parents permission to bring me out! Were u expecting a consent form ur royal highness?*) .. ..I do not have your number aunty'
'Fine. Dun ever ask her out again. WE ARE NOT LIKE U. WE ARE FROM A POOR FAMILY, I NEED THAT BRAT AT HOME TO DO ALL THE HOUSE CHORES AND COOK SO THAT I CAN DO MORE OT. DON'T EVER ASK HER OUT AGAIN. I DUN LIKE HER GOING OUT'
WTH. What zaman is it now that you still discriminate daughters? You think I dun know that u have a good for nothing son that does absolutely nothing at home?? Yes he's smart, but so is your daughter, equally if not more!!
I cant even go out with her for 1day?! And why are u calling me now, harping bout something that happened more than 2 months ago??! If I wasn't brought up to respect elders, I would have rudely spoken my mind.
Wait! Y am I even talking bout respecting u? Something as precious as 'respect'? U deserve none.

'This does it! I'm NOT going anywhere WITHOUT my camera again!!'
With that resolution, I placed my camera in my bag.
This morning I started fiddling with it on my way to my new house. Found a new thang called selective colour. Now that's interesting. I've seen it before in my friends's dslr, never thought my cam has this too! Wohoo!
I feel like I'm looking at the world through the eyes of a colour blind person. I'm not sure if they see things black and white or they see it as it is but their brain could not process/interpret the shade of colour they're looking at.
Anyhow, this has given me an idea of what it's like to see the world through their eyes :) might not be anything close to it but it's a start!

Real short
I realised that my previous posts were pretty long winded and wordy. It probably bores the life out of ppl. Sowee =(
This is gonna be real short.
Done.
This is gonna be real short.
Done.
Putrajaya day trip
Every Putrajaya trip that I've been to so far had me waking up the next morning with awfully sore arms. This time we ain't wall climbing, we went for kayaking instead in Pusat Maritime Putrajaya! Our initial bookings was 10 double kayaks to accommodate everyone, but due to some unforeseen blunders, our double kayaks were given to others =( so we ended up with 5 single kayaks, 2 double ones and 2 canadian canoe :)
One thing I REALLY regretted today is not bringing my camera. GAH. Would have taken BEAUTIFUL underwater shots of my friends (and me) capsizing. Not to mention the sight of a very buffed up group of people practising their dragon boat! T.T
Anyway, I chose the single kayak and started rowing out with my friends to the furthest point we are allowed to row on the lake. It was a LOOOONG way there and I heard stories that many people who set out to that spot under the bridge were left stranded in the middle of no where because they were too tired to row bak. A motorboat will then set out to rescue them. Being ambitious, me and a few guys decided to row all the way there and bak.
20mins into rowing: It was fun till we had this crazy idea of me swapping with Sam to the canadian canoe from my single kayak IN THE MIDDLE OF THE LAKE -_- I crossed over to the canoe first, being the lightest and Sam then came out of the canoe to take over my kayak. It was going smoothly till Sam steps over to the kayak and capsized. Hahahaha, still standing, I laughed and lost my balance, capsizing the huge canoe along with the other guy on it. We spent the next 20mins trying to turn the canoe bak but it was too heavy and we didn't have anything to step on to support the weight of the canoe. So... a motorboat came by and help us turn it over.
Lesson learnt! I went bak to my kayak and kayak to the bridge. Took me another 20mins >.<
In the end, none of the guys reached the bridge, they gave up mid-way. But me and my friend persevered through! (Yay! Sore arms waiting for us when we wake up in the morning =D) Prob the single kayaks are lighter, so we made it. Hahaha but still it was funner than all my previous kayaking trips! I've never capsized before, so it was very refreshing. Haha! The water is very cooling and clean too. 5star filtering system =)
Oh, one unforgettable moment was when I was heading bak to bay. Waiting for my friend to catch up, I rested for a while, lying down in the kayak with my hat on my face and my feet in the water. It was so relaxing! To have the gently breeze and the artificial wave that slightly rocked the kayak. (Once again, I wish I have my camera with me!)
After that, was fooooooooddddd! Hahah what better thing can befall on a famished exhausted girl? We had a refreshing picnic and played some games. You have no idea how good a simple sandwich filled with mashed eggs, onions, sugar and mayo sauce combo-ed with an icy cold soft drink taste like after a good row. Sausages and brownies was the next THING. Absolutely delicious!
Somewhere along the picnic, I got a nudge from one of my girl friends. Apparently the dragon boat team is back. So we started our 'checking out' and whispers of 'that guy in red shirt, that guys in blue.. etc'. Hahah the view of buff guys coming back from their dragon boat training was delicious too. LOL. They are fully clothed okay. Hey! I really have a thing for sporting guys don't I? :P
By 1, we were on our way to Alamanda Putrajaya. Split into groups (clicks, more accurately) to do our own browsing. Checked out some bags. NOT handbags, but travelling luggages and saw one of this small wheeled suitcase (more often refered to as carry-ons I think) that I absolutely adores (gosh, the light weight material, elegant shape/dimensions and the glossy finishing of the surface!), but after a quick search for the price tag, my spirit spiralled downwards. The price was Rm 3,330.00 -_- What am I doing here? I will never spend so much on a luggage bag, for now. 3k is INSANELY insane. Period. One of my friend favours a backpacking luggage which cost Rm 150+, I'd say I can get similar bag from winter time for 2/3 of the price. Omg. Spoken like a true housewife. LOL!
Every mall will certainly have a camera shop and a bookstore. Therefore, our window shopping experience would not be complete without a visit to any one of it :P Our first camera stop was a nikon dealer. To be walking around in a group where each one of us either owns a dslr or a compact camera above 1k, what more can I say? Of course some of them would go all hyped up just looking at the Canon 7D dslr at the display glass. The only thought I can conceive is that it's called 7D cuz it cost 7k -_- but then it wun make sense coz my dad owns a 50D and another friend has a 550D. Analysing the pattern, I found out that the price decreases as the model number increases for canon dslr. Smart huh? Hahaha I really dun know much bout dslr laaa except that they are incredibly bulky and that I'd prob never get one in this lifetime.
After the camera tour we went to the bookshop. Only found a tiny mph there, how disappointing. I went to this world map corner and found a book on interesting places to visit in Korea, read it cover to cover. Don't really know most of the place mentioned but then it would take prob a year of diligent travelling to cover every recommendations. It has some pretty useful info nonetheless!
That roughly sums up my day in Putrajaya!
But without pictures, this post about getting wet is so dry.

LOL-ed
Putrajaya is 4 hours away from now.
Right now I'm checking out some youtube videos for my Korea trip. Recommended by my friend who's drowning in the incoming 'Hallyu wave'. Hahah just finished watching a hilarious vlog on a couple's trip to Lotte World. Entrance ticket costs 40,000won! Wao. A simple google search on conversion from won to MYR would come out to roughly Rm110 for that pass. WAO. And I thought Genting's 38bucks entrance ticket was expensive >.<
But of course, Genting is NO WHERE near Lotte world in terms of size and facilities. They even have a huge indoor ice-skating ring! And the whole area is so huge that u practically commute via cable car within the park itself! O.O It's like a korean Disneyland according to the couple. Hahah so I'm sure it's going to be an awesome experience for me too :) Though I ain't going in the souvenir shops to get a pair of blue bear ears like they did! >.< what are those ang mohs thinking?? Hahah so silly (but very fun to watch!). No wonder those shops even bother selling them, there's demand after all :P
After that I watch a song recommendation that is supposedly so good it entered the charts in US. GG. What did I just watch. I sat through the 4mins video gapping. After that I LOL-ed uncontrollably. HAHAHAHAHA. The dance moves! The korean 'Austin Powers' in the elevator! The yellow man! Everything is.. beyond words, beyond description. But then again, what did I just sang to my bro?
Op op op op oppa gangnam style.

Exhausted =)
I did a 4km jog today and clocked 35mins 12secs. Sat on the floor to do some cooling down and thought to myself: I must mop this area later.
Hahaha ok, if I can keep this up, I might be fit enough to join the Nike 10km run this year :D
IF I can keep it up.

D-day
Results will be coming out in less than a week! :D
Practically all my classmates that I talked to reminds me of it. I'm not very nervous, even when I think about it. It's probably because I've conditioned my mind for the worst this 2months.
Why am I taking law? I might not be a lawyer. I haven't decided if I'm going to take the bar. I haven't even pass my degree. Sometimes I just dun know what the future has in store for me. I mean, most if not all my classmates already decided that they will become a lawyer. But me? I dunno. For all I know, I might end up with a 8-5 bank job handling loans and mortagages.
Should I continue with an MBA? Work? Do my bar? (Fly with AirAsia? :PP) Hahah all this are uncertain. I must have hate myself alot to study a law degree without having a burning desire to be a lawyer. And to think that ppl around me expects me to pursue a legal career because of what I study is quite a burden. What if I graduate and tell them that 'No, I'm not going to be a lawyer, I'm gonna take my law degree and apply for a bank job. If u wanna take a loan or mortgage, pls remember me.' Hahah that would shock them.
Remember those forms we had to fill when we were little to state our ambition?
I've never written lawyer before. It'll be funny if I really be one.
Anyway, I'm just hoping that D-day will come asap and fill my heart with relief. Or horror. Hahah either way, I'm getting pretty tired of holidays. Can't wait for class to start!

middle-of-the-night ramblings
Sometimes, during this holiday, I had moments of doubt whether I've become bimbo-fied. I mean, cooking, shopping, nail art, gaga-ing over korean dramas, make up. But WAIT! I can justify all those. (went through this in my head again and again to reassure myself everytime doubt hits me)
Cooking is justified. It's not a gender specific activity. I'm not even sure if bimbo cooks. Those that says cooking is a women chores, I'm sure they have dinosours as pets.
I didn't shop (or window shop) excessively. Yes it's more than what I usually do, but it's less than what bimbo does. Totally.
Nail art. Tough one but this is just a very new obsession. Can't tell for sure if it will survive through the month. Just like the korean dramas.
(2 birds with 1 stone)
Make up and assesorizing. Eyeliner, foundation and lip balms are basics. It's in line with the Avril Lavign's look. And she is legend.
There u have it. Me is normal.
PS: Recently I found a new sense of appreciation for heels. They are pretty indeed. On my feet.
On a separate note,
I was chatting with Kalai yesterday night and I felt really upset. She's going to US so soon. I'm happy for her but.. I'll miss her. It sounded like great adventure for her, so I couldn't help but get all hyped up for her. I wish I can help her pack. She's getting a camera for the trip too, I wish I can help her choose ='(
Hahah but I had SO much fun last night advising her what to bring, how to search for places to go tour, what not to miss out and how to choose a camera. AIH. She said I could write a travelling guide and a guide to choosing suitable cameras. It all comes with experience and a very bad (or good?) habit of jumping from one interest to another. Hangat-hangat tahi ayam. LOL. But when I'm on to smthg, I can't help but dig deep, read up on it for hours and if it's hands on, I'd get some materials to experiment. Then I move on. I like it that there's no pressure to do well, I could learn at my own pace. Quit at my own time.
For some strange reason (considering I'm no brilliant photographer), camera browsing is smthg I never stop doing. Looking at brands, models, prices. Fasinating really. Thus, YK's offer to give lessons on a DSLR? I'm gonna take it up! I figure it'll be quite interesting to learn how shuttle speed, types of lenses, light exposure and all the complicated DSLR settings can work together to capture a masterpiece :)
Just the other day, he was explaning to me how in some situations, zooming would give a much better effect than taking the picture upclose without zooming. Shocking. I realised that some effects could only be acheive with zooming, say when ur taking pictures of water droplets in mid-air. Those individual droplets would look amazing when taken from afar zoomed in rather then taking it upclose. Of course shuttle speed plays a MAJOR part too, the faster the speed (ie 1/500), the clearer the droplets will get. I always though that zooming would dilute the pictures but apparently it's not so much a difference and totally worth it to gain a better effect and light exposure. What a technique. Food for thought indeed.
15mins of casual talk made me realise that I love this. I can't imagine how much more interesting an actual proper lesson will get =) to have a photo-geek [pls dun retract ur offer!=( hahah] as friend, lucky me! I rephrase, photo-genius.
Why am I still awake? Cuz I slept at 9pm just now. Woke up at 11pm when my big bro came bak from work (what stupid job makes ppl stay bak so late? We have no rights?), I WANT TO celebrate his b'day b4 the day's over. So yea, I woke up, ate cake, take pictures and right now my eyes are as wide open as an owl. Oh n he loves my choc truffles. He loves it!!! Well actually he obliviously ate some when he found it chilling in the fridge yesterday morn b4 he went for work. I facepalmed till my forehead was slightly flat when I found out -_- but I was smart enough hid it afterward! And listen with evil glee the story my mom told of him hunting for it after work yesterday night. Hahahaha! But having it as a present today, it was too precious for him to eat. Awwww =') worth it. Everything was.

August!
A quick update on what I've been up to this week.
1. I tried my hands on a new recipe yesterday. It's like bak kut teh but I've replaced it with chicken instead of pork!
2. Other than that, I've tried another new stuff. Aihh, the actual story was I wanted to make a cheese cake for my bro's b'day. After hours of researching and reading, I went to shop for materials. And then I came home with the shocking revelation that 1 block of cream cheese is not enough to make all the cheese cakes in the world.. .. ..The end.
3. And after the korean dramas craze dies down, I've been moving on to a new thing. What THING? Nail art! So bimbo right? LOL. Started out with some simple polka dots last week. Oh n a purple-pink ombre on the other hand. Looks great but very eye catching. (Aint gonna wear that for Sunday's futsal!) So I removed it after 2days and put on a clear coat ='( hahah.
2days ago, I was shopping for some baking materials and caught a glance at an accessories shop having SALE. I'm not much of a sale person but given that nail art is the In-thing (in my life) right now, I took a little detour inside to check out the nail polish. Muahahahaha!! I came out with a nail polish remover, a top coat and various colours. Hehehe. U could say I was dancing inside, can't wait to go home n try it out!.. .. ..
I didnt try it out until today though. This time I chose my new shiny nude purpl-ish colour one cuz last week's colour was a bit crazy. Turns out to be too bland. Ugh. Nevermind lahh, trial and error. Haha
4. This week I've watch 3movies. The dark knight rises, total recall and er.. one more.. er.. step up revolution!
The dark knight rises was nice but given so much hype, I expected something more mind-blowing. Total recall was pretty awesome. Step up was not as good as the previous one but I'd still give it a 6/10 :)
Note: 6/10 is pretty good. A second upper if ur taking my course.
5. I went out last night with my bro to check out the BR shop. He drove while I scout on. All I can say was 'Whoa! U-turn! U-turn!'. The line was crazy, it wasnt's just a few shops, it was more than 2 BLOCKS long and the shop itself was packed. Many are cutting straight into the shop without lining up, so for those who ARE lining up, standing 2blocks away, I wonder if they are gonna see their ice-cream at all. I would have cut in the line and get my ice-cream in 10mins like so many others. But that's too ill-mannered, if I cut in, I'd walk in as a customer and pay them for the ice-cream.
6. Haven't been working out this few days. I have some time today but u see, it was spent updating this blog.
I know I ain't as strong as the guys! I must kick-start my jogging regimen so that i wouldn't be a burden during the korea trip. Best if I could leave them behind in dust, panting. Lol. I wish.
1. I tried my hands on a new recipe yesterday. It's like bak kut teh but I've replaced it with chicken instead of pork!
That spoon wasn't intentional. My bro couldn't wait for me to take a picture b4 he puts it in his mouth -_- |
2. Other than that, I've tried another new stuff. Aihh, the actual story was I wanted to make a cheese cake for my bro's b'day. After hours of researching and reading, I went to shop for materials. And then I came home with the shocking revelation that 1 block of cream cheese is not enough to make all the cheese cakes in the world.. .. ..The end.
Hahaha seriously. What was I thinking??! How can I overlook the most important thing in the recipe? A disgrace to all cheesecakes bakers really. Anyhow, I ain't going bak for another 3blocks. (1block of cream cheese cost bout Rm13! The ignorant me never knew it's that expensive! >.<) I did something else with what I had. Tadaaaaa! Oreo chocolate truffles!!! All I can say that it's simply delicious! (and I blame my sore throat on it!) Thk God it's a great turn of event to an awful mistaken start, hahah! Oh. Of course, I did set aside half of it for my bro's b'day.
PS: My mom said it's nice tooooo. OMG. From HER.
Her side note: but a bit too large, truffles should be bite-size.
Hahaha that's okayyyy, where'e the indulgences in having a small bite-sized truffle. 2 bite-sized is just nice :P
I should do this more often! |
